Frequently asked questions

What are friendship dues?

A flat monthly fee that pays for your ongoing hearing care. Because that's how we're paid, we never need to sell you hearing aids. The full explanation →

Do I have to buy hearing aids from you?

No. Buy them wherever you'd like. If you bring hearing aids from somewhere else, there's a one-time $250 fitting fee to retest, refit, and reprogram them. Then it's $33 a month. See our prices →

Do you take insurance?

Yes. Insurance patients can still join friendship dues, paid once a year ($396). Or skip dues and we follow your plan's terms, such as a $65 copay with TruHearing.

What if I stop paying my dues?

There's no contract. Visits become $125 each, and new hearing aids are sold at our standard price. You can rejoin any time. To keep upgrades at invoice plus $250, you pay the dues you missed.

How long do hearing aids last?

Usually four to six years. Our upgrade pathway explains how we decide, with you, when it's worth replacing them.

Can I bring a family member?

Please do. A second set of ears helps, and family often notices things about your hearing that you don't.

What if I don't like them?

Every fitting includes an adaptation period with follow-up visits. If they're not working for you, tell us. That's what the follow-ups are for.
